I have read I do not know how many bad reviews of this movie because the book was better and more detailed. I really feel that those people had big expectations before even seeing this movie. That is one thing you can not do with any movie, especially those that have been adapted from a book.
Judging the movie on its merits alone, it is a great movie and a fitting sequel. I was glad to learn that another sequel is in production for release May 2010. The current working title is The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
While I thought the ending could have been done better, I understand they probably were already thinking of another sequel. This movie is enjoyable, beautifully filmed, and entertaining enough that you do not realize it is 144 minutes long.
